What We Believe

WE BELIEVE

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that by His death and resurrection, we are saved.

We declare the Bible to be the living word of God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We cherish the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion as God’s gifts to us.

While we are called to be distinct and set apart from the secular world, as disciples of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, we are also called by the Holy Spirit to go out into the world and share the Good News, that by His death and resurrection we are saved.

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE:

We will, within the community of faith, care for each other physically, spiritually, and emotionally, while keeping in mind the full range of needs within an intergenerational congregation.

We will provide a balance between traditional and contemporary worship and music by tying scripture and daily life experiences together.

We will provide consistent Christian Education for all ages in our congregation.

We will actively seek opportunities to support community and global missions.

We will continue to provide a place for the church and larger community to gather in fellowship and friendship.

We will promote and support stewardship with time, talents, and financial contributions and by being good stewards of God’s creation.

We will provide a way for people of all stages in their walk of faith, to come to Christ, by sharing our faith, scripture, stories, songs, and theological and Biblical reflections.

Essentials of Faith

EPC is a denomination that celebrates God's sovereignty, the authority of scripture, and the lordship of Jesus Christ. We are evangelical, meaning that we believe that all peoples should hear the Good News of the gospel and that we are responsible to share it! We are to be God's hands and feet here on earth, reaching out and lifting up others toward Christ.

Our denomination, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, has these 'Essentials,' which are derived from scripture and the creeds of Christianity:

EPC's motto: "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity."
